I was asked to do a guest blog for one of my clients this week.  Tell everyone a little bit about lash extensions and why they are so great for brides and the wedding day.  I have talked about Diana before, she/Silver Spoon Studio designed my logo for Lashology. This week Lashology was proud to be a sponsor at The Phoenix Fashion Week spring preview held  in Scottsdale last night.  We were excited to be part of the Swag bags given out to their VIP’s.  Hundreds of beautiful people were out in droves last night at the hip and modern W hotel to view the 2010 spring and summer fashions.   Lashology was there to soak up the night life, sites and see how the young and a few old(er), like to party. 

Thank you to Brenna Moses, Operations Director - Phoenix Fashion Week, for inviting us to be a part of this cool event.  We had a wonderful time and are looking forward to meeting the lash extension needs of all the great people we met.  Until next time.

October is breast cancer awarness month.  Are you wearing your pink?

Lashology is proud to be part of Passionately Pink For The Cure .  We are part of the Xtreme Lashes national team raising money to raise awareness and fight breast cancer.  Prevention is the best defence, so make sure you do your monthly breast exam at home.   We are sporting pink lash extensions this month to show our support.  

Let’s not lose one more mother, daughter, sister, wife or best girlfriend to this tragic disease.

Not all of the lash extensions out there are created equal.  Let’s do some show and tell.

When you are shopping around for a lash extension stylist, the first thing you want to find is a licensed aesthetician or cosmetologist.  Individuals in the medical field such nursing are also well qualified.  Why would these people be well qualified?  They are all trained to work up close and personal with people and most important they are trained in disease prevention.  This means they are properly trained to disinfect and sanitise work instruments, work surfaces and their hands.  I hope all these people are washing their hands and tools because they will be touching your face.  It is one of the biggest ways infections are spread.

The next thing you should be looking for is whether or not this person has training from a reputable lash extension company.  Some companies only send out a dvd and that is their  training.  Hands on training is very important.   Xtreme Lashes www.xtremelashes.com is a leader in the extension industry.  Their products are always high quality, but it is their training that sets a Xtreme stylist apart from the rest.  Your training is not finished at the end of class.  You must prove you are doing quality work by sending several before and after photos of your work before you are certified.  Xtreme also offers Advanced Certification for the stylist that wants to excel in their field.  Xtreme Lashes will not sell their products to anyone that is not Xtreme Lash certified.

Now lets compare apples to apples here.  This is what you get when you come to Lashology for your lash extensions.  A full set of lashes at Lashology is 60 lashes per eye.  Many people consider 30 lashes per eye a set.  This makes a huge difference in the fullness of your lashes.  That is like two lash sets from the other guy in the same amount of time (two hours).  Your first lash fill ( you need to have these lashes touched up every two to three weeks to keep them looking full and pretty) is free when you purchase a set of lash extensions with Lashology.  You will also receive an eye makeup remover that will not damage your lashes.  You must not use any oil base products with your extensions.  It breaks down the adhesive bond.  Our clients will also receive a tube of protective coating to apply to lashes once a week to prolong the bond of the adhesive.  You really get a lot for your money at Lashology. 

We are not the cheapest out there.  If you are just looking for the least expensive gal to do your lashes, we are not your gal.  We do not push people through like cattle.  We take pride in our work and enjoy the time we spend with our clients.  You will get a hour of our time with each lash fill and two hours with each lash set.  You will always leave our studio with a full set of lashes ( 60 per eye or more if you are really good at taking care of your lashes).

Leslie has been applying eyelash extensions for four years and is one of the only Advanced Certified Lash Stylist in Arizona.

So if you are shopping around for lash extensions, make sure you know what your options are.  Ask to see photos of each stylist’s work.
